Math - Not my favorite thing in the world.

Tonight I hope to do well on my final for Intermediate Algebra. I may have to retake the test before. Not sure what my grade was yet but I didn't feel good about it. This math stuff has been quite the adventure for me. I hadn't taken any math since high school. Moody only required students to take either math or science. Being the math whiz I am (not), I took science instead. So when I went to register to start taking classes for my teaching certificate, I had to take a math placement test. Bombed it! So I had to go back to Elementary Algebra and learn everything again from high school. Since then I have also taking Intermediate Algebra. I am proud of myself though. For not having taken Math since high school and not being very good at math, I have gotten a B in both classes so far. I thought that I was going to have to take one more algebra class to catch up, College Algebra, but my advisor said College Algebra was not required. Hallelujah!!! I now get to move on to the Math classes for teachers. However there are four of those classes - Math for Elementary Teachers I, Math for Elementary Teachers II, Math Methods I, and Math Methods II. So needless to say I am not finished with Math. But I am glad to be taking them. They will be related to teaching and I am glad of that. Because of all this, I know I will be a better teacher for having taking Math all over again.

I can appreciate the math issue. I was good in Math in school...at least Algebra but the Algebra Kerstin has to do now is something else. Take heart though, if you teach elementary the math isn't too hard. 8th grade is when I lost it with Kerstin. Love the pics.
